Invest in important aircraft supplies

Friday, August 28th, 2009

After getting your pilots’ license, make sure to get all the aircraft supplies in order. These are very important for a safe and secure flight. For all kinds of aviation supplies, either you can visit any aviation supply shop which stores all pilot supplies or if there are none in your area, then you even have the option of finding any kind of aircraft supplies online. Headsets, handheld receivers, GPS, aeronautical charts, tools, training textbooks, landing gear components, and complete range of pilot gear; you can find many things to choose from. If your budget does not allow you to buy a lot, then invest in something which is very important, like headset for example. Another absolute must is an aviation GPS. Many planes have in built GPS but not all. GPS or global positioning system is a valuable tool in case of trouble. it is very useful when the weather is bad or you venture into some unknown area. Garmin is a quality name in Aviation GPS and there are many models to choose from. Depending on the budget and features that you desire, you can invest in a good GPS.

Apart from these supplies, it is also very important to carry aircraft maintenance kits. Flashlight, tools, screw kit; and various other aircraft maintenance supplies come in very handy when there is a sudden problem which needs immediate repair.

Madhya Pradesh promotes itself as monsoon destination

Friday, October 17th, 2008

If you thought that monsoons are not the best time to pack the bags and head for a tourist destination, then think again as Madhya Pradesh has emerged as the hottest new monsoon destination in the country.

Boasting of a range of geographical landscapes and interest - from the hills of Pachmarhi to the wildlife reserves of Kanha, the religious sites of Sanchi and Ujjain to the historically rich Mandu and Orchha, Madhya Pradesh has been aggressively promoting itself as the ideal monsoon destination.

In a national seminar on monsoon tourism in the national capital last week, Ashwani Lohani, managing director of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (MPTDC) said that the state has taken various initiatives to promote monsoon tourism, such as improving connectivity and better roads.

“Good roads are a must if we want to get more tourists to come during the rains and things have improved considerably over the last four years,” Lohani said.

He added that the state is planning to set up round-the-clock control rooms which will attend to distress calls by tourists and reach to their rescue.

“Also, cities like Bhopal, Gwalior, Indore and Jabalpur, will soon have a mobile phone technology at their disposal by which tourists can be informed about the various sites of interest in those places,” said Lohani.

Highlighting its easy accessibility from all parts of the country as its USP, officials of the Madhya Pradesh tourism department said that the lake city of Bhopal, the world heritage site of Bheembetka, Sanchi, the Buddhist pilgrimage site and the old capital of the Nawab of Bhopal are the ideal monsoon destinations in the state.

Leena Nandan, joint secretary of the tourism ministry, said that they are working with the states to develop special promotional packages during the monsoons.

“The foreign tourist arrivals have increased by 14.3 percent in 2007, as compared to 2006 and the time has come to attract tourists in the lean season as well.

“We have to innovate to attract tourists during the monsoon period. Prime packages that can be offered at this time are honeymoon packages, Ayurveda rejuvenation holidays, houseboat cruises and rain walks,” said Nandan.

Besides Madhya Pradesh, the other states promoting monsoon tourism include Goa, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Uttaranchal, Jammu and Lashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Assam.

either way doesnt matter Golden, the first two posters are correct. no expired id will be accepted but a current photo id (drivers license) and birth certificate are good. for my own daughter we use a student id card and birth certificate (she is eight)

——–

No form of expired I.D. will be accepted. Passports are not needed for Land travel between the U.S. and Canada. You do need your birth certificate and a gov’t issued photo I.D. ( current). See site below to read the current law.

——

No — an expired passport is not valid documentation for crossing the US-Canada border, even by land. For the time being, your birth certificate and driver’s license are an adequate substitute (or any of the other documents listed on the page below), when crossing the border by car.
